Local Ambulance LGBT+ Networks

Each NHS Ambulance Service has a LGBT+ Network and a range of support mechanisms. In this section you can find out more about each network and how you can connect with them. Working with local networks we can also provide some information about other local services and support mechanisms.

Staff Network

The EEAST LGBT+ Staff support network was established in 2018 to promote and support the needs for LGBT+ staff, our community and our service users. We have strong support from our executive and non-executive leadership teams and at present we have virtually delivered meetings every quarter. As a key part of the Equality and Diversity team and recognising intersectionality we sit alongside five other staff networks to ensure no matter who you are or how you identify - in EEAST, we value you.

We attend at least one Pride event in each of the six counties across the East of England. This enables us to engage with the community, our service users and other members of public addressing matters such as health promotion, health service usage and recruitment, as well as building relationships with partnership organisations and charities. Pride is also a fabulous way in which we connect and unite our staff, share experiences, learn from each other and offer peer-to-peer support when needed.

Additional Support

For more information on the network please email lgbt@eastamb.nhs.uk. More information about all of EEAST’s equality networks and other Diversity, Equity and Belonging matters within the Trust can be obtained by contacting: edi@eastamb.nhs.uk.
