Tom's ambulance career started at the age of 18 when he embarked on my Paramedic training at the University of the West of England and the former Great Western Ambulance Service based in Bristol.

Once he completed his university course he began working with South Western Ambulance Service (SWAST) as a Paramedic, and has continued to study to achieve a BSc in Advanced Paramedic Practice and is now working towards an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

Tom joined the National Ambulance LGBT Network as a trust representative in 2016, and is now working with colleagues within the SWAST to form its LGBT Network and the Equality Steering Group.
