Student Paramedic

micheal.roberts@wmas.nhs.uk

Originally from a holiday and leisure background, Micheal started his ambulance service career in 2015 with North East Ambulance Service as an Emergency Care Assistant. After spending two years in this very enjoyable role Micheal decided he wanted to develop his skills and experience in a more challenging position. He moved to Scottish Ambulance Service in May 2017 as a Student Medical Technician based in Stranraer. Micheal is hoping to qualify as a Technician later this year and then go on to complete his Paramedic training and qualification with Scottish Ambulance Service.

During his time with North East Ambulance Service Michael was an active member of the Proud@NEAS group, he has continued with this passion and drive and is helping to establish the Scottish Ambulance Service LGBTI Network alongside Ann Tobin, Equalities Manager. Micheal continues to make a valuable contribution to supporting LGBT staff and can be found at Pride events across the UK representing the National Ambulance LGBT Network.
