Leigh joined the NHS in 2008 working in the acute hospital setting in pathology. Whilst working in this setting, Leigh volunteered with a voluntary aid society. During this voluntary work, he discovered his interest in pre-hospital and emergency care. Leigh then joined a degree programme at the University of Worcester, qualifying as a Paramedic in early 2012. Since then, Leigh has gained employment with West Midlands Ambulance Service and has been appointed to Operations Manager based at Worcester Hub.

Leigh had some involvement when the Pride Network was formed in 2013. In 2017, Leigh was appointed to the Secretary for Proud@WMAS, the Trust’s relaunched LGBT Network. Since then, Leigh has taken on the role of Vice Chair for the network. Leigh is keen to assist staff within the Trust to feel free and safe to be part of the LGBT community and provide the best care possible to members of the LGBT community also.
