Opening Doors: The Health and Wellbeing of LGBT+ People Over 50

Published by Opening Doors group in December 2021, this report looks at the health and lifestyle challenges for LGBT+ people over the age of 50.

Rapid Response: NHS Providers and AACE Report

This report looks at the role of the ambulance sector in transforming services and coping with the long-term impact of Covid-19. It includes examples of best practice that individual Trusts have put in place.

University of York Research: Understanding LGBT+ Employee Networks

Dr Anna Einarsdóttir and a team of researchers at University of York have been looking at the impact staff networks can have and some of the challenges facing those involved in running them. The team released a summary report into their findings and a series of recommendations during an online seminar in October 2020.

Hidden Figures: LGBT Health Inequalities in the UK

In March 2020 the LGBT Foundation launched a new report which looks at all the different health inequalities impacting on LGBT people. This is an incredibly comprehensive report, divided into three sections; Starting Well, Living Well and Ageing Well. The report does not draw conclusions or make recommendations, assuming that health providers will draw on the information to understand how they can improve their services and make them more inclusive.

Hidden Figures: The Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on LGBT Communities in the UK

This excellent report, released in May 2020 by the LGBT Foundation, shows the impact on many LGBT specific health inequalities due to the Covid-19 pandemic that first swept across the world in the first half of 2020.

AACE Social Media Guidance

In January 2020 the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives released best practice guidance of ambulance services using social media. The National Ambulance LGBT Network will be adopting this guidance as its standard.

Stamping Out Poor Attitudes - Journal of Paramedic Practice Article

National Ambulance LGBT Network Patient Experience Lead, Alex Ewings, wrote this article after London Pride in 2019. It gives a flavour of the fantastic work being done by London Ambulance Service and the National Network, and reinforces the message behind Pride. This article appeared in the August 2019 edition of the Journal of Paramedic Practice.

In 2018 the Government Equalities Office released this comprehensive report which sets out the priorities for improving the lives of LGBT people in the United Kingdom.

In 2018 Stonewall released this important report which provides an insight into the health inequalities of LGBT people and outlines the experiences of people interacting with our health services.
