Recruitment

The National Ambulance LGBT+ Network does not employ anyone, but we can help to connect you with careers in our NHS ambulance services. On this page you can find out what it is like to identify as LGBT+ and work in our services, and get the latest vacancy information for your area.

Great to See You at UK Pride!

If you are reading this information you will have connected with one of our ambulance staff at UK Pride in Doncaster. We hope you’ve had a fabulous day and thank you for visiting our website.

If you are interested in a career in one of our ambulance services, and identify as LGBT+, you will hopefully find this information useful. We have put together a pack to tell you about working in the Ambulance Service and to hear some stores of LGBT+ people who work there already.

We can also tell you where you can find out about jobs within the service in our area and put you in touch with recruitment teams for each service.

Our Stories

Our information pack containing some of our staff survey results from 2023 and staff stories will be available here soon.

Volunteering

Volunteering in the ambulance service is incredibly rewarding. You will be joining a community of thousands of volunteers around the country. There are a wider variety of roles available; Community First Responders are dispatched by ambulance control centres to emergency calls. Volunteer car drivers escort patients to and from their health appointments. Community engagement volunteers help to engage local groups around health awareness campaigns and training. There are many more roles available and you can choose a role that suits you. Click here to view more information.
