Supporting Your Mental Health

The role of ambulance staff in our services will vary and have different impacts on our mental health and wellbeing, therefore it is essential that we recognise and seek support to look after ourselves, each other and our patients. Within this section you will find information and resources to support good mental health and wellbeing of you and your colleagues.

'Are You Okay?'

One in four people will experience a mental health problem. We know operational ambulance staff, who may be repeatedly exposed to difficult situations, are more at risk. LGBT staff are more vulnerable, particularly when they do not feel able to be their 'authentic' self at work.

This short resource pack explores what good support looks like and how LGBT Networks can set up and promote appropriate care.

The 2019 edition includes contact information for each Ambulance Trust's wellbeing or support services.
