LGBT History Month Resources

Inspired by LGBT History Month, which takes place in February each year, we have developed a set of useful resources to support LGBT Network events.

Celebrating LGBT History Month 2019

Back to LGBT Basics - Identity

For LGBT History Month 2019 we have produced a quiz which looks at the whole subject of identity. You will find out about the different symbols that have represented LGBT people, learn about some famous LGBT people, the Stonewall Riots and even try out the now forgotten gay language of Polari.

Before you read the information pack, read the instructions carefully. Each slide has one wrong piece of information on it. Will you be able to spot them?

Let's Not Forget

The theme for LGBT History Month 2019 is Peace, Reconciliation, and Activism, celebrating the official end of the First World War and marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

In this pack three members of ambulance staff write a blog about a famous figure from the past and each links to one of the themes of this years event. In addition to this we asked the National Ambulance LGBT Network committee who their gay icons are. You're bound to find out something new if you read this resource.

The Proud Trust - LGBT History Month 2019

Every year The Proud Trust write a resource for LGBT History Month. This years resource pack is superb and, although written for schools and education, you will find lots of interesting information and activities contained within it.

We are very grateful to The Proud Trust for allowing us to include their resource on our website.
